Learning target: After completing this unit, you will be able to read the dimensional notations on a drawing and recognize the tolerance symbols in the drawing as such. You know the type and area of application of the most common conventional measuring and test equipment and know the difference between "measuring" and "testing". You know the terms "nominal geometric element", "actual geometric element", "detected geometric element" and "derived geometric element", know to distinguish clearly between them and know about the assignment of these terms to the measuring run on a coordinate measuring machine.
