| The measurement software and the measuring equipment operator use the individual probed points along with the nominal shape to determine substitute elements. These elements are called associated geometry. After calculating the assigned geometric elements, they can be compared with the relevant nominal geometric elements, thus obtaining information on whether the dimensional, form and position tolerances have been observed. |  Associated geometry of the part |
