The use of additional equipment allows the range of functions of coordinate measuring machines to be extended, enabling many measuring tasks to be solved more effectively.

  • A rotary table makes it easier to measure rotationally symmetrical parts.
  • The use of articulating stylus system avoids complicated stylus configurations. In most cases, the stylus tip can be changed to any required angular position.
  • A stylus system_changer likewise simplifies the required stylus configurations. Moreover, it allows an automatic stylus change.
  • A scanning device allows an enormously large number of measuring points to be recorded within a very short period of time.

Further additional devices include an automatic part feeding system and programmable clamping devices. The range of functions of a coordinate measuring machine can also be extended by means of additional software such as CAA (Computer Aided Accuracy).
